The next Sunday Morning Concert for 2010 will take place on 28 March, at the Enoch Sontonga Conference Complex! 

The Black Tie Ensemble has always set a high standard for its Sunday Morning Concerts, and these concerts featuring prominent works from the operatic repertoire promises to surpass the expectations of all opera lovers. These concerts generally feature Ensemble members performing solos, as well as in ensemble works.  The Black Tie Opera Chorus also participate in the concerts from time to time. Homemade cakes and snacks, as well as beverages are for sale before and after the hour-long concert. This is Sunday morning entertainment at its best!

 Why Sunday Morning Concerts?

The Sunday Morning Concert is a vehicle for the singers to augment their income while giving the more experienced singers of The Ensemble an opportunity to perform new repertoire and gain performing experience. Solos and ensembles from operas, operettas, musicals other selected works are performed. Sunday Morning Concerts offer an alternative to music lovers who do not wish to attend evening concerts.

Since the inception of the Sunday Morning Concerts in 2002, the audience has expanded steadily, including seasoned opera-goers as well as new audiences across the cultural spectrum. As part of the outreach programme of The Black Tie Ensemble, room is provided for fifty learners from secondary school choirs from the community. Organizers of corporate functions often attend these concerts to become acquainted with the work and standard of The Black Tie Ensemble.

 

Ritrovo Dinner Concerts

 The next Ristorante Ritrovo Dinner Concert will be on 5 May 2010! 

The monthly dinner concerts at Ristorante Ritrovo in Waterkloof Heights, Pretoria are very special to The Black Tie Ensemble as shortly after the establishment of BTE , these concerts were the first regular corporate engagement of the Ensemble. The concerts take place on every first Wednesday of  every second month and are very popular be sure to book well in advance! Ristorante Ritrovo is Tshwane's top five star restaurant, and has consistently featured in South Africa's top ten.

An ensemble of BTE singers usually present the concert, consisting of highlights from the repertoire of The BTE. This is followed by a sumptuous three course meal with table wine included. Ritrovo donates all the proceeds from these evenings to the continuing development programme of The Ensemble.
